What Causes Sudden Throbbing Pain In The Pelvis?

For the past month i have been having a throbbing pain below my stomach in my pelvis. The pain comes in the middle of the night and its always so sudden then goes away afterwards. I am afraid i might have fibroids or something. I am 38 years old, no child and been taking acutane to treat my face acne lately and sometimes i feel its causing this. Please help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a renal stone. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
