What Causes Sudden Severe Pain In Forearm While Playing Tennis?

Hi. Whilst playing tennis 4 weeks ago I got a very severe pain in my forearm half way between wrist and elbow on the Alna side. The pain quickly subsided after about 3 mins, and I carried on playing to finish match. Next morning my arm and hand had swelled and ached like mad. Put ice on it and took a ibuafren pill. Went to doctors, they suspected a slight fracture or crack but X-ray didn t show anything. Been resting now for 4 weeks. All seems well except a weak feeling and this small bump the size of a small pea that remains in the said area of the forearm. This bump only hurts when touched. Any ideas? Am I safe to play tennis/gym etc??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You may need orthopedic surgeon review as well as MRI of the forearm to rule out muscle injury or tendon injury. Meanwhile OTC analgesic like acetaminophen or ibuprofen alongside muscle relaxants like Orphenidine or Tizaindine can be continued.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
