Hello Dr. Manjunath, I have a question about hymen. I was 17 when i lost virginity with my boyfriend and actually i did not feel anything like pain or burn, i neither bleed but after i mad a little research i realized it is not a big deal. however now i am getting 19 and have second boyfriend. when we had sex first time it did not hurt and we were quite active sexually. however after winter holidays when we got back together, it really hurt and i was feeling more burn rather than pain. I want to know is it possible the hymen to heal or does an elastic hymen really exists? thank you in advance
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
As per your query, the hymen does not heal. The burn during intercourse, the burning can be related to many medical conditions. One of the common causes can be microtrauma during intercourse. Another possible cause can be a vaginal infection which can be detected with a vaginal swab test.
Hope my answer was helpful.
