What Causes Sudden Pain In The Hands With Discoloration Outside The Palms?

Why would I have a sudden pain in my hand? The pain was sudden like a cramp, but has subsided in my left hand. It is on the outside, along my little finger. I have had a pain and stiffness in my right small finger for a couple of weeks. I have red blotchy discoloration on both hands just along the outside of my palm. my left hand still aches a little.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Pain along the little finger may be due to ulnar nerve compression or peripheral vascular disease or anemia or hypothyroidism or compartmental syndrome etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use painkiller medication. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
