What Causes Sudden Onset Of Swollen Itchy Spots All Over Body?
When I woke up yesterday my left hand itched just above the ring finger. Within the next hour my hand was swollen; My ring is usually too loose and now is quite tight. The swelling extends to above the wrist. Mid-morning a spot started itching on my right hand followed with swelling--then a spot about half way between the wrist and elbow. I now have ten places like the ones described --two on my back, seven on my right arm and hand and one on the left hand, all of which are quite swollen and itchy. I have not ate anything different or started any new meds. What could it be and what should I do about it?
Suddenly itchy spots eruption over various parts of body do indicate acute allergy. This may be of concern with environmental pollen, cloth fabric or else. Immediate care would be: - Ice application over swollen area - Antihistamine therapy with injection as Avil or tablet Cetrizine - Injection Epinephrine or steroids reserved for extensive systemic involvement
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
