I had sudden pain in my lower left back this morning as I was leaving for work. Drove with the seat heater on the entire way in (60 minutes). Through the morning it has not gone away, and the pain is constant. Felt a little better after laying on my back and resting for 1/2 hour at lunch, but then felt slightly nauseaus (nothing happened). Pain worsening again.
Causes of sudden low back pain include:
Compression fractures to the spine from osteoporosis
Cancer involving the spine
Fracture of the spinal cord
Muscle spasm (very tense muscles)
Ruptured or herniated disk.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
