What Causes Sudden Aggressiveness In A High Blood Pressure And Depression Patient?
a friend with extremely high blood pressure, kidney problems and being treated for depression has become aggressive, unreasonable and violent. She also has iron deffecieny is having iron infusions. Her behavior has gotten mucsh worse in the last few days, she is filled with rage about every thing. IsHer b;\lood pressure was 165/102 today. Is it possible she has had a stroke? She is seeing a psychiatrist, hemotoligist/oncologist and has an appt. with a new family practioner on Friday. She fired her last 2 GP s. dWhat would be the best thing to do for her?.
I do not think the changes in behavior are due to hypertension but hypertension may cause the kidneys to fail. Kidney problems may cause changes in behavior and thinking due to the effect of the toxins on the brain.
Also, depression may cause aggressiveness. It is important that she is examined well, tests done and treatment geared towards the likely cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
