Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. If the string is hanging from inside vagina it can be a vaginal polyp.Usually vaginal polyps are harmless. But if it bothers you it can be excised surgically and send for histopathology examination. If it is coming from inside uterus it can be a degenerated myoma or part of miscarriage.A physical examination by gynecologist including speculum examination will help to rule out this.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
Thanks.
