What Causes Stomach Pain And Bloating?

I have had stomach pain for over 4 days. The pain is different from my prior experience with gas pain although I have had more flatulence than usual. OTC gas remedies have no effect. It almost feels like a muscle strain, but I haven t had any reason to believe this is the case. I haven t eaten or drunk anything unusual and have no known food allergies. Should I be concerned? I am a 65 year old female. I have had a hysterectomy and gall bladder removed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

Some advice that I can give to you is:
-Take Simethicone medicine for the bloating.
-Take antacids for the stomach pain.
-Avoid foods that cause gas, such vegetables in the cabbage family, dried beans, and lentils.
-Avoid caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and fatty or highly seasoned foods.
-Drink liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
