What Causes Stomach Bloating And Lower Abdominal Pressure After Vaginal Hysterectomy?
Hi Doctor. I am 5 days post partial vaginal hysterectomy. I have been having regular soft bowel movement already. My problem is bloating, feeling of pressure on the lower abdominal area just above pubic area and pain on lower back which occurs mostly at night. Since surgery, I wake up feeling normal in the morning and when its night time, thats when my problem starts. What could be the reason for this and how long usually this problem lasts. Thank you
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of stomach bloating and lower abdominal pressure after vaginal hysterectomy which could be due to lack of fibres in diet, irritable bowel syndrome , intolerance to dairy products or other food items, eating too fast, overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel, giardiasis or some medications. The symptoms can also occur due to the spinal anaesthesia which must have been given to you during the surgery. Your aneasthetist will help you out , also consult your surgeon . I would suggest you to avoid food like dairy products , drink warm water , do light exercises and eat light and non spicy food. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers , proton pump inhibitor along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory. You should take diet rich in laxatives and probiotics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
