What Causes Stomach Ache Along With Chills?

My friend is a male sixty four. He was recently hospitalized for stomach pains. Also, his face would become flushed, but his body would begin to shiver violently for 15 minutes to an hour. He had an ekg and blood work to rule out a heart attack. The doctor did not want to do a catherization without ruling out stomach or kidneys. He was sent home two days ago. He s lost 10 pounds and continues to have the flushing and shivering incidents. His wife is frustrated that the hospital didn t keep him to run more tests. Instead, he has an appointment with a kidney doctor July 12. His kidney output was ok. Does this sound like heart or kidney or stomach? He was hospitalized a month earlier for dizziness and high blood pressure. What could be the cause of the chills and facial flushing?
