Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi there's a part underneath my upper lip almost in my mouth that is stinging and irritated and is a darker red-pink colour then the rest of my lip it has been feeling like this for around 3 days . I suffer from cold sores but this is nothing like the ones ive ever gotten considering its basically in my mouth and there aren't any blisters.. any ideas?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the mucosa in the area of inner part of upper lip is inflamed leading to Mucositis and is due to conditions like trauma, burning with hard foods or chemicals, lip bite etc.. If it start progressing it can also be due to Iron or Vitamin B12 deficiency..
As of now you can start applying numbing gel over the area to reduce soreness, you can also do cool compresses over the area, avoid hot and spicy food or concentrated solution of mouthwash.. Do cool water rinses or suck ice pops and take Vitamin B complex for a week..
In case if it still does not improve consult an oral physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
