What Causes Stiffness In The Neck, Dry Mouth And Dizziness?
Hi. I have had hypothyroidism for 13 years. I recently had some inflammation of the thyroid - weight gain etc. I had my blood work done and positive antibodies were present but normal function overall. Now I have a stiff neck, severe dry mouth, and feeling light headed which has lasted for a few days. Could this be thyroid-related?
I do not think your recent symptoms of stiff neck, severe dry mouth and feeling light-headed is not related to thyroid problems. Could be due to possible:
- spondyloarthrosis of neck area
- candida overgrowth or imbalance of GI flora
- electrolytes imbalance
Should get oral swab testing to rule out candida thrush and check your blood electrolytes. Xray of neck to rule out spondyloarthrosis.
For the moment,
- keep well hydrated
- use probiotics
- increase fluids intake
- apply analgesic cream on neck area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
