General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your problem seems to be due to cervical spondylitis, which could be recognised/diagnosed by physical examination and few needful investigations like X-ray/MRI of the cervical spine. Expert advises of a spinal surgeon would help.

A specific treatment of the diagnosed problem would help you. Till then you can take rest (avoid or take a thin pillow), use ice bag/hot bag and take over the counter pain medicine like Ibuprofen to give you some relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
