What Causes Spotting, Cramps And Nausea?

I have a copper IUD. my period is always regular. I am two dates late and just started a brownish red gooey discharge. I have cramps and nausea. My previus period symptoms are always like pregnancy symptoms. Could I be pregnant or should I expect a regular period.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.

You may not be pregnant because you are using Cu-T.
The symptoms may be due to hormonal changes cause by Cu-T.

One thing is very important that Cu-T is in its place.
You can check it by its thread.
If you are not able to feel thread then please contact your treating doctor for misplaced Cu-T.
On this case you should go for home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.

Hope this is useful to you. feel free to discuss more.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa
