I am currently trying to clear up severe eczema on palms, using narrow band uv been light treatments and steroid creams. progress good, but have been using creams for 2yrs. Recently developed red spots on skin of lower arms which appear after a scrape or bump. nothing hard enough to cause a bruise or cut to skin. I do not apply meds to my arms. Am 59 years old, stay out of the sun, and take no other meds. Is it possible that the steroid creams (betamethasone, clobastasone, and now desoximetasone .25%) absorbed on my palms are making the skin on my arms thin enough to break capillaries and cause the spots? also did 2 rounds of prednisone about 6 months ago, spots started showing up since then. My dermatologists says it is part of aging, and genetics might play a role...thin transparent skin in older female relatives, old like 90 yrs old, not 60.
