What Causes Spontaneous Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak?

My friend has a brain injury in which pressure from spinal fluid leaking into her brain is causeing the pituitary gland to stop functioning and now she also is not producing any of the cortisol hormone. Can something be done surgically to stop the leak and get those glands to start producing hormones again?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The history of brain injury indicates possible damage to central canal coverings as it is very widely known to produce cerebrospinal fluid leak in very early post operative phase. However, detailed study of recent MRI or CT plates are mandatory to evaluate the same.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
