What Causes Spike In BP?

I am 40 year old female. My blood pressure normally runs 120's/ 80's when it wasn't high. About a month ago I became real lightheaded, sick to stomach, confused, pale. I checked my blood pressure several times that day while lying down with legs propped up. My bp was running like 96/60... my pulse was ranging from 70's to high 80's. Everytime it was in the 70's it would show irregular heartbeat. This all took place within like 7 hours... felt like crap and blood pressure alot lower than normal. Yesterday it was 104/59... 96/59... those are just a few readings and my pulse was running in the 80's - 100's. I drink coffee, smoke cigarettes. Is the reason for ER visit?? As it is starting to scare me. What could be causing this??

I really appreciate your concern, the symptoms that you have stated here and your doubt for blood pressure, but as a matter of fact your symptoms might not be because of blood pressure, because you had blood pressure that was not induced such symptoms, that could be functional condition might be related with some anxiety and depression, no need to worry about this, hope this information helps you have nice day.
