What Causes Spasms In The Rectum While Suffering From Diverticulitis?
HI I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH DIVERTICULITIS. FOR MONTHS I HAVE HAD LOWER ABDOMINAL PAIN ALONG WITH VERY LOOSE BOWELS THAT IS SOMETIMES ACCOMPANIED WITH A YELLOW OR CLEAR SLIME. MY BOWELS ARE MOSTLY SMALL AND THIN. SOMETIMES I USE A LOT OF TOILET PAPER TO CLEAN MYSELF BECAUSE THE MORE I WIPE THE MORE POOP COMES OUT. SOMETIMES I AM WALKING AND I CAN FEEL THE POOP OOZE OUT. I ALSO SEEP BITS FLUIDS THAT IRRITATE AND SOMETIMES MAKE THE HE OUTER PART OF MY ANUS BLEED. WHEN MY BLADDER IS FULL IT BECOMES VERY PAINFUL TO GET OUT OF BED, STAND UP AND WALK BUT AS SOON AS I URINATE THE PAIN GOES AWAY. IT IS PAINFUL TO HAVE A BOWEL MOVEMENT AND I STILL HAVE THE URGE AFTERWARDS BUT NOTHING COMES OUT. WHEN I STRAIN I HAVE SPASMS INSIDE MY RECTUM. I CAN ALSO HEAR MY BOWELS MOVE IN MY COLON. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME.
For the acute phase of the recurrent diverticulitis antibiotic therapy is required but once the acute phase settles down severe and drastic lifestyle modificatory changes have to be followed by the patient for many months to avoid recurrent attacks. So I'm sorry my dear but if you are sure its diverticulitis then broad spectrum antibiotic have to be taken for 5 to 7 days.
I would suggest you take Clindamycin with Metronidazole. They would cover both bacteria as well as protozoa, however, you would need a prescription for the same as antibiotics are not over the counter.
Probiotic etc would help but if its diverticulitis then you have to take antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
