What Causes Spasms In The Legs After Tonsillectomy And Adenoidectomy?
My 10 year old son had a Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy 8 days ago. After the 3rd night I ve noticed him having leg and arm twitches or spasms while he sleeps. He s been sleeping in bed with me and they are strong enough and lasting long enough to wake me up. Is this something I should be concerned with?
As per my clinical experience, the surgery sequence is over at 8 days of the event.
There is possible co-relation with some of the side-effects of the drugs which can give rise to such annoying muscle cramps. The same should be addressed to his surgeon for further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
