What Causes Spasms And Cramps In The Calves?

For 7 months I have had chronic spasms and cramps in both calves. After several tests including 2 MRIs, Doppler, X-rays and several blood tests, no doctor can make a diagnosis. All tests results proved to be normal. What could cause this constant pain in my calves? What is the treatment?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on your description, the investigation doesn't prove any pathology in the calf region. It might be caused due to vitamin and mineral deficiency.

Kindly take medication which contains L-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, selenium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Zinc preparation.

Kindly do mild stretching exercises twice daily regularly. Drink good quality of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
