What Causes Soreness And Redness On Calf While Using Neosporin To Treat Poison Ivy?

Sore appeared on my calf that looked just like a cigarette burn. It is round and wet looking, skin around is red. Been putting Neosporin on it, plus a cream for poison ivy as it initially itched badly. Has not itched since the initial application of that med, and appears to have, dried up but skin around it is red, swollen and tender. Saw a picture of a, skin staph infection which it closely resembles and am now worried it may be staph. I have bad, veins in both legs but, not as bad in, this leg as the other. Just felt I should ask about it as I live 60 miles from my physician and don t know if I should see, her.

Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with pain and soreness around the calf muscle from a poison ivy and on treatment with neosporin I am suggesting you have developed a Myositis (inflammation of the muscles)

In view of this please continue your medication and add any of the following Tablet nurofen Tylenol neurobion cymbalta

I hope this helps Regards
