Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey so I m 19 years old and I 4 times a week I would play basketball outdoor and last week I started getting knee pains during the games and I knoticed this lump/bump below my knee on both my knees. What do you think it is? There s pain whenever I bend my knee for example getting out of bed out of my car and stuff like that.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Basketball players tend to develop patellar bursitis. It is inflammation of bursa present just below knee joints. So consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination of local part. You will need compression bandage for knee area. Avoid basketball for 1 month. Take painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs. Apply warm water pad and ice packs alternatively. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
