What Causes Sore Throat,cold Sweats And Fever?

I have had a really painful sore throat for now 5 days at one point it was so bad I stopped talking to ease the pain. I also have had a headache which is worse during the night for 3 days. I have had cold sweats and a fever during this. I also have what I first thought was a common cold but now unsure. I haven't eaten properly due to the pain in my throat. I have this morning also woke with feeling very cold and I have now strong pain/cramps in my stomach. All the above systems are still present. What is wrong with me?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

Your history and symptoms are suggestive of upper respiratory tract infection , because of which you are having these constitutional symptoms. As you are having these symptoms for last 5 days on treatment also sometimes it may take few more days to control the symptoms.

If the symptoms are not improving in spite of the treatment you may need Lab investigations like CBC, sputum examination and Chest X ray. This will help to identify the problem and to treat the condition.

For the present condition I would suggest you to follow
1.Steam inhalation with Vapocaps
2.Oral antibiotics like Tab Bactoclav, 625 mg, twice daily for five days.
3.Oral Antihistamines.
