What Causes Sore Throat With Yellow Phlegm?

feeling sick my fiance got sick two days ago..i really didnt think anything of it..now i have a cough that burns my throat..when i spit yellow stuff comes up..i blew my nose everything came out clear n my nose isnt stuffed up anymore...my throat feels dry sore n raspy...when i breathe i can feel the dryness go from my throat to my chest....is it a cold or something worse?

Hello welcome to the health care magic

It can be upper respiratory tract infection like pharyngitis, bronchitis or it can be pneumonia if fever and dyspnea present.

Your work up done as follow...
_Auscultation
_CBC
_chest x ray

Decongestant and antibiotic course can be prescribed for that.

Salt water gargle done with warm water three times a day

Avoid excess spicy foods

Drink more water

Consult physician for examination
