What Causes Sore Purple Bump On Pubic Region Oozing Pus?
I noticed this purple bump on my bikini line last night. It hurt when I touched it, and it felt hollow inside. Then today it had puss oozing out, so I squeezed it and a lot of puss followed by blood came out. Now there is what appears to be a hole there and it hurts when even just my clothes touch it. I am sexually active and praying it s not a STF. Do you have any idea what this could be?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history, you are suffering from Folliculitis, my treatment advice is: 1. Do not squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an NSAID like Ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil, and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
