Hi, Montelukast (Montus) is a medication used for allergic conditions which includes what you are probably suffering from - Allergic rhinitis, with your symptoms including sneezing and runny nose noted in the morning. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, especially when experienced daily and disrupts the normal flow of your daily living or activities, the guidelines suggest the use of steroid nasal sprays which are more effective than oral medications alone. The effect may also be more prolonged than oral medications in preventing recurrent runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, and itchiness. I recommend avoidance of exposure to dust, smoke, pollen from flowers, as these can trigger the above symptoms.
