Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my name is jj. im 33yrs old and 21 weeks pregnant. i went for an echo two weeks ago and the doctor called me back for a second look at my baby s heart yesterday. she thinks my baby s right ventricle is a little smaller than normal. i want to know all abt it.
Hi..there is a condition called hypoplastic right heart syndrome where in the right side of the heart will be smaller. One echocardiogram doesn't confirm or refute anything. I think you need to be on regular follow up as suggested by your doctor and then take necessary steps. I suggest you ask the doctor if she's suspecting the same condition. Then it will be prudent to discuss about this with her. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
