What Causes Small Red Spots Around Mouth And Chin Of An Infant?

My one year old just started waking up with small red spots around her mouth and chin. They look more like spots that bumps, however, one every once and awhile will have the tiniest white bump in the middle that is just slightly raised. They don t seem to bother her to much, but I ve also noticed that around the same time she started getting these, she also started crying out or babbling in her sleep. I check on her when she cries out while she is sleeping, but I never find anything wrong. I m not sure if the two are related, but figured it wouldn t hurt to add that information.

Hi, welcome to HCM.
Small red rash or bumps near mouth region in 1 year old child could be due to insect bite or allergic rash.
Insect bite can present as rash which has itching over the rash and may develop secondary bacterial infection over it.
Allergic rash due to pillow cover or bed sheets can also appear like this.
In my opinion, you should give hydroxizine syrup 3.5 ml PO three times a day for 3 days and apply mupirocin cream at the site of skin lesion.
Review back after 2 days with some pictures of the skin lesions.
