What Causes Slow Heart Rate?

Recently I had bouts of pounding and uneven slow heart rate, low 50 s. I was seen by a cardiologist and had test done like, echocardiogram, stress test and 24 hr Holter monitor. According to my cardiologist the results were all okay and nothing to worry about. I told him I have sleep apnea and have not been using my CPAP for more than six months since I lost my machine during our travel, just now able to replace it.He said to make sure to use my CPAP at all times. Also I am a diadetic and am taking the following medications daily; Janumet 50/1000mg, Lisinopril 5mg, Atorvastatin 10mg and the rest are Vitamins E,D,B12 and Probiotics-all are over the counter medications. I was thinking I might have side effects from the medication I was taking this medications more or less 2 years now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think the slow heart rate you are having is as a result of blood pressure medications. Maybe Lisinopril is causing it. Continue to use CPAP machine all the time to help you with apnea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
