What Causes Slow Blood Rate, Quick Numbing, And Weak Memory?

Dear Doc! I have since the last year have been experiencing slower blood rate. Which is If i raise my hand, within 10-15 second, I get a prickly feeling. Also if i sit cross legged for 3-5 mins, legs go numb. Also have notice my memory is become very weak? cannot remember things that I heard 3-5 seconds ago. Are these related, and what do you reckon is the problem. I am a 37 year old male, above average weight, not obese.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. It appears you are showing possible early neuropathic changes. Possible calcium or potassium deficiencies can also cause this.
2. Conduction studies along with serum calcium and potassium is necessary. A thyroid hormone profile is necessary to rule out hypothyroidism.
3. Take food rich in calcium like ragi and calcium supplements. For potassium, avocado, fish, pulses, banana should help.
4. If nerve conduction studies are abnormal, Vit B12 supplements is necessary. Initially an infusion might be necessary to correct at the earliest followed later on by oral medication. Avoid alcohol.
5. Have a nutritional diet and maintain a active life with moderate exercises.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
