What Causes Sleepiness And Laziness After Taking Oxetol For Epileptic Strokes?
My sister (Age 59) is known case of Epilepsy. She is on Oxetol 450 mg in the morning and 600 mg in the night for the past three months. Her epileptic strokes have not occurred since she started to take this medicine. Before that she used to get Monthly 2 or more strokes. But she sleeps more and lazy. She sleeps for more than 12 hours daily. In addition she is taking Lacoset 40 - one tablet morning and evening. Should the dose be regulated? What are tests to be done to ascertain adequacy or over dose of this medicine.
The Oxetol contains Oxcarbazepine used in variety of clinical disorders of epilepsy conditions. There are various side effects of Oxetol such as: - Headache - Nausea - GI disturbances - Nystagmus - Dizziness - Fatigue - Impaired concentration - Others
You must discuss the issue of sleepiness with your doc for further dose adjustment so far as your case is concerned.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
