What Causes Shortness Of Breath?

I am a healthy 57 year old male. For some reason experiencing slight shortness of breath; i.e not quite able to get a full breath as if I was at high altitude but am not at altitude. I do high intensity cardio 2-3 times per week but am not doing it right now. No other unusual symptoms.
