What Causes Shortness Of Breath While Treating Pulmonary Embolism?

Hi I was put on xarelto for numerous pulmonary embolisms. I have been to the er twice because of shortness of breath. Both times after numerous tests I was told that it may take up to a year for the blood clots in my lungs to dissolve. How do I know if something is really wrong? All of the time I feel this shortness of breath. I was told that I m probably not going to feel all that well until the clots are gone.

The shortnes of breath comes from the trombolism that you are experiencing. The thrombus blocks the vessels in your pulmons that carry blood so the flux of blood deminished and causes less supply with oxygen.
