General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sudden breath stop without any cause looks difficult to say what exactly it could be but let me explain something which might happen.

One thing is sleep apnea, that pause in breathing during sleep, this happens if person sleep soon after eating. Another reason for the same problem is gastric reflux. Otherwise, try to figure out from another physician with a checkup especially heart-related issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
