What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain In The ULQ Of The Abdomen?
Hi, I am a 55 year old white female and I am having some pretty sharp pain in my mid front left side. It is a very specific spot that I can press to find the hot spot but a pretty large area of that side hurts continually with period sharp stabs. Any thoughts on what it might be and if it can wait to be seen by a doctor until Friday?

It might be due to any stone in the kidney that is passing and is causing this episodic pain or it could be due to appendicitis as well.
If this is accompanied by vomiting or fever I suggest you visit your doctor or emergency as soon as possible to seek urgent medical care.
