What Causes Sharp Shooting Pain In The Head When Diagnosed With Dementia?
I have a sharp shooting pain on the top left side of my head. The pain goes down into my left ear. It stings me about every 1-2 minutes and hurts if I move my scalp. I had a bad head injury with stiches a few years ago in the same area with stiches. My doctor has diagnosed early onset Dementia and Alzheimer s due to it and the atrophy in the area of the wound.

What Causes Sharp Shooting Pain In The Head When Diagnosed With Dementia?
Hello, As first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
