What Causes Sharp Pain In Lower Back Along With Nausea?

I am having a sharp pain in my left side of my back near my kidney. It is such a sharp pain that it is shooting to the front of my hip and up to my ribs. It is starting to make me very nausea light headed and its getting to the point where i can barely move. What is this and what can i do to fix this issue?

Thanks for your enquiry posted,

Regarding your chief complaint, you are suffering from a flank pain with nausea. There are many causes that mimic kidney or flank pain including: Obstruction of the ureter pelvic junction (UPJ), Cancers (very rare in your case), Infections, Rib pain, Lower thoracic nerves injury, Pleurisy, Muscle pain due to strain, Herpes zoster with skin lesions, Urinary calculi (no fever measured), etc.

Additionally, almost urinary tract obstructions and stones cause several signs and symptoms such as flank pain radiating to groin, gross or microscopic hematuria, nausea, and vomiting without acute abdomen diagnosed, etc.

According to the instructions posted by you and my experience, my recommendations are:

1.     You need an immediate UA/UC test and also blood routine test including WBC with diff.

2.     You demand to take an ultrasonography and also in some conditions a KUB test, IVP and maybe CT scan.

3.     After visiting your doctor and taking such tests mentioned above, your doctor would prescribe strong analgesics to decrease your pain.

Hope you feel better soon,

Regards

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such pain could be due to muscular spasm but in differential diagnosis it can be tested for renal stone and better to get done the x-ray till then Tab Diclofenac with Acetaminophen can be tired for the nausea Tab Domperidone can be tried hope this information helps.
