What Causes Sharp Pain In Hip?

I have had some shooting pain just above the right hip for some time that comes and go, and now it seems to be more frequent and also seems to be spreading to my lower back. I just wondered what it was?. I am 17 years old and I am 5 foot 7 and weigh 9.5 stone. When I was nine I had e-coli poisening and HUS and I am worried thatit could be something to do with my kidneys.

Hi,

The chances that is related to your kidneys is low. However, in your case, a workup should include a kidney US scan, inguinal and pelvic US, Pelvic X-rays, and probably an MRI. Also, the physical exam is a must in your case to rule our partially some of these conditions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
