What Causes Shaking And Shivering In The Morning?

Hi, My 21 year old son just woke up shaking and shivering and feeling very cold with a pulse rate of 150 bpm. What might have caused this? He does not have a fever and has not taken any meds or alcohol. He is 5 9 and weighs 185 Lbs. He has no known allergies.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Shivering, feeling cold and a rapid heart rate suggests infectious focus in body.
However, fever is expected in this situation.
A clinical assessment and certain investigations are required.
Fever with chills and rigors are seen in certain infections e.g. urinary tract infection, cholangitis, pneumonia, malaria etc.

I would suggest you to consult your primary health provider for clinical assessment.
Antibiotic is prescribed in case of infection.

Thanks and take care
