What Causes Severe Vomiting And Diarrhea?

I have severe vomitting and diarreah. It comes on with no notice, every few weeks and lasts 24-72 hours. During these boughts of illness, I have no abnormal temp, no chills or body aches, nothing else that would indicate a flu or stomach virus. This probably describes a gazillion possible causes, and I have more info but want to start with this, as last two times, I ve almost and probably should have gone to ER due to dehydration and the lack of ability to even keep sips of water and/or gingerale inside of me.

If its just an episode of diarrhea with bad taste, severe bloating, heartburn etc. then it is highly likely that you are having food poisoning (gazillion). But it you are suffering from multiple episodes of diarrhea without any reason and its hampering your life style then other less prevalent causes like food allergies, inflammation of intestines and osmotic diarrhea must be ruled out. You haven't mentioned your food habits and medical history. Consult your nearest GP.
