What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding After 5 Weeks From Abortion?

hello.. i had an abortion 5 weeks ago.. i stoped bleeding after two weeks and then it stoped for two days then it started again and contiued for three weeks and stoped and now three days later the bleeding has started all over again. How do i handle this? what should i do?

Hi, I think there can be two reasons for such bleeding. One is there can be some retained products of conception in uterus. So, get a ultrasound done to see the retained products of conception. If it is there, you may need a surgical evacuation. If not, it can be due to some infections. Take a proper course of antibiotics. You can take some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Discuss with your doctor regarding this.
