What Causes Severe Uterine And Back Pain After Removing Tampon?
I slept with a super absorbent tampon in for about 7 hrs. Everything was fine until I removed it and inserted another one. Almost immediately I started having severe uterine and left lower back pain. It took me a while to get in a comfortable position and drift off. The pain is constant. Even when I find a good position it s still there just not as bad. If I move I want to cry. It feels like a constant severe contraction. I did take out the new tampon and put on a pad. Am I experiencing Shock?
I am sorry for the agony you are suffering from. There could be two reasons that can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. First, it is possible that you have caused blunt internal trauma while inserting the tampon. If that will be the case, painkillers like Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg should be sufficient. You have already switched to pad and I advise to use pads for this cycle. Hot water pad compression can help to reduce pain.
If that does not help, vaginal infection due to tampon can be considered. You may have to visit a gynecologist in that case for physical examination and treatment accordingly.
I would advise you to maintain hygiene in the genital area. Do not use scented soaps, perfumes or deodrants in the area. Keep washing the area with hot/warm water as and when possible.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon!
