What Causes Severe Upper Stomach Pain?
hi .i been having these severe upper stomach pain .when i dont eat for couple of hours .it would go away for days or months at a time .lately it has been worst .sometimes i feel really week and sweetie when i get the pain .im 29 i try to watch my diet .my breakfast everyday is fresh fruit smoothie with orange juice .i wonder if the orange juice is making it worst or my stress level .when im stressed it gets worst ,went to the emergency room few times over the last 6 years ,i was told its stress related .any help plz ,thank u

thank you for asking your concern and welcome HCM. from your description it seems to be duodenal ulcer to me, if it decreases with meals and increases on empty stomach then mostly it is duodenal and if vice versa then gastric ulcer. there are multiple cause to it like food habits, junk food, alcohol, smoking, excessive tea coffee and most of the time it is H. Pylori infection. it is said that you have to take anti h. pylori treatment along with anti ulcer. there are some tests to detect it but they are not that reliable. anti h pylori treatment consist of tablet clarithromycin or amaxicillin, metronidazole and omeprazole for two weeks. there are multiple anti h pylori blister packets are available in market you can use any of it.
