What Causes Severe Tiredness While On Hormone Therapy For Breast Cancer?

I was treated for breast cancer and the treatment was successful. I am now taking a medication that stops the production of estrogen. I have been cancer free for almost six months. Lately I have been so tired that I could sleep at my desk. Is this the result of the medication or should I be concerned about something else? Kathy Romans

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Hormone therapy may cause bone marrow suppression and anemia, it might be a cause for excessive fatigue. Consult a physician and plan for a complete blood count. Other causes also be evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
