What Causes Severe Stress Along With Fatigue?

Last night my husband was under severe stress and was exhausted. We woke to feed our newborn baby and he couldn t even stand. Or function. I walked him back to bed, and he asked me what was burning. That it smelled like someone was making toast. He suffers from migraines as well. Should I be concerned? He is only 34 and is in fairly good health otherwise.
