What Causes Severe Rectal Pain Along With Bleeding In Women With Endometriosis?

I have what I think is endometriosis and have been controlling it with the pill for some years now. One of the symptoms is, and has been since the onset, rectal pain when having a poo with occasional bleeding. Up until my last menstrual cycle these symptoms were only for either the week prior or post my actual period. However my last period was heavier than usual and the blood and pain was markably worse. It has been three weeks since my period and it still feels like passing glass every time I go to the loo and there is fresh blood each time. I started to experience vaginal discharge about a week ago and lower abdominal/back pain. I went to the GUM clinic this morning and they ruled out all of the usual STI s, but said I have BV. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic beginning with M and suggested a complete overhaul. Do you think I have cervical cancer? the thought hadn t crossed my mind until this morning and I thought the tiredness may be due to an STI, now I m panicking that it s something sinister. Please can you advise me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

If the origin of the bleeding is from rectum it does not indicate a cervical cancer.
It is commonly related to hemorrhoids which can be treated with an antihemorroid cream and soaking in warm water.
I suggest to do a PAP smear for further evaluation.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
