Hello,

You are suffering from severe pain, swelling of the foot and bruise. A bruised toe can be caused from a broken toe and fracture. A broken foot or ankle can also cause bruises on top of the foot & also swelling. It can be due to damage to the veins or capillaries. The blood may pool in the damaged area and cause bruise or blue-purple discoloration.

Presently, you are suggested to give rest to your foot, ice it from time to time, keep your foot up (elevated) when sitting or when on bed to prevent further swelling. Swollen and bruised toes or foot are painful, you can take Naproxen or Acetaminophen, one SOS when pain. Avoid taking alcohol or addictions if any, if overweight lose weight. Wear shoes that comfortably fit you. Other medical conditions that can cause easy foot bruise and swelling are thrombocytopenia, vasculitis, RA, gout, etc.

To reduce swelling you can wear support stockings, compression bandage and reduce salt intake. Get clinically examined by an orthopedist and get Imaging tests done. You will be treated accordingly. Avoid sedentary lifestyle. Massage the feet and eat potassium rich food to help reduce water retention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

You are suffering from severe pain, bruise and swelling of foot. Any physical damage to the veins and capillaries may cause the blood to pool in the damaged area and create a bluish-purple discoloration. You can apply ointment Thrombophob on the affected area so that any blood clot on the affected area can disperse and inflammation gets reduced.

You should get clinically examined by an orthopedist, get X-ray and if required MRI done to get a detailed study. Pain, swelling, tenderness on the outside of the foot is indicative of Jones fracture which can be a stress fracture or there can also be a sudden break of the bone due to trauma.

It causes difficulty in walking, constant foot pain, pain in one foot, foot bruise, foot injury. Give rest to your foot, apply ice for relieve, keep your foot up (elevated), and take Naproxen or Combiflam, one SOS when needed. You may require a crepe bandage in case of tendon or ligament tear, get assessed and treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
