What Causes Severe Pain Under The Rib Cage On The Left Side?

On Sunday, I bent way over to the left from a sitting position to reach a floor power outlet. I felt something roll over under my ribcage on the left side and then had intense pain. I am now very sore when I move just wrong, try lying on my left side or back, and even when I breathe. What could have happened? I just actually felt something roll over in my left side.

Hello,Thanks for the query.
If one bends suddenly some times there can be a stretch and strain on the vertebral column. It can lead to even a mild slipped disk (prolapse of Intervertebral Disc). This causes pressure on the spinal nerve root exiting form the vertebra, giving rise to sudden pain. This can remain for some time. It needs to be properly examined and necessary treatment should be taken including NSAIDs and pressure relieving measures, then only the pain will be in control. So my suggestion is please seek an orthopedic opion and follow his advise. Thanks.
