What Causes Severe Pain In The Right Knee?

Hello Dr. I have been living with a strange pain in my right knee area for several years. I am currently 54. I was active in sports in school and have worked the past 30 years in the Casino Industry which involves me being on my feet and walking several miles daily on carpeted concrete floors. I believe it is arthritis related. At times I feel weak in the right knee as if I were going to fall but do not. Would injections be an alternative since no treatment for my condition has been initiated? Thank you.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, you should not start injections directly.
We should first diagnose your case then start appropriate treatment.
Prolonged standing can cause osteoarthritis.
So better to consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and x ray of affected knee joint.
This will tell you about severity of osteoarthritis.
Depending on severity, you will be advised physiotherapy, drugs or joint replacement surgery.
Don't worry, it is curable.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
